ETALASE 2021 #feministfestivalEtalase Pemikiran Perempuan, 23-25 Juli 2021 (Etalase), diinisiasi Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan, adalah ruang sirkulasi pemikiran perempuan Nusantara di ranah seni budaya dengan semangat lintas disiplin, wilayah geografis, budaya, dan generasi. ETALASE, initiated by Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan, is a space to circulate knowledge produced by women in the Indonesian archipelago, focusing on arts and culture with the spirit of crossing disciplinary, cultural, geographical, and generational boundaries. Lisabona Rahman (Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan) at KAUM Festival, BerlinComrade Lisabona Rahman will speak about our Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan in the “Feminist Organizing” panel at KAUM FESTIVAL, Berlin. Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan (SPP/ The School of Women’s Thought) is an initiative that intervenes in the processes of knowledge production that marginalize, invalidate, and erase women. Informed by decolonial approach, we situate Third World women as knowing subjects and engage in “epistemic disobedience” to the colonial, capitalist, and heteropatriarchal knowledge system.

Between 1950 and 2000, 97 percent of the novels published by Random House were written by white people, 90 percent of the novels reviewed in major periodicals were by white people, and 91 percent of major book prizes were awarded to white authors. And when we think about the cultural field, like best sellers, prizewinners—they also have a distinct white voice that’s very different from Blackness.
