Visiting Writer: NTU Asia Creative Writing Programme

 

Intan Paramaditha was invited to be a visiting writer at the Asia Creative Writing Programme, Nanyang Technological University Singapore. Residency period: November 1 - December 30, 2023.

The Asia Creative Writing Programme is a joint initiative between the National Arts Council of Singapore and the School of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University.

Leading international and local writers are appointed as Visiting Writers to teach creative writing workshops and masterclasses, as well as mentor and guide emerging, developing and advanced writers in Singapore.

Programme Activities

Rewriting Horror, Myths, and Fairy Tales: Genre-Bending Literature

In this six workshop course, Intan Paramaditha and participants will explore the use of horror, myths, and fairy tales in literary fiction as ways of transcending genre boundaries and raise questions. In each workshop session samples of literary fiction will be read that deploy and rewrite familiar tropes and genres, particularly horror, myths, and fairy tales.
