SHORT BIO
Intan Paramaditha is an Indonesian author and academic based in Sydney, where she is Senior Lecturer in Media and Film Studies at Macquarie University. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University and is a recipient of the 2025–2026 Civitella Ranieri Fellowship. Her books include the novel The Wandering (2020, translated by Stephen J. Epstein), longlisted for the Stella Prize and winner of the English PEN Translates Award, and the story collection Apple and Knife, part of the Vintage Classics Weird Girls series. Her latest novel, Malam Seribu Jahanam (Night of a Thousand Hells), will be published by Europa Editions (UK/US) and Scribe (Australia) in 2026. Her work has been translated into several languages. Paramaditha has been profiled in outlets such as The Guardian and BBC Radio 4, and her essays have appeared in The Best American Travel Writing, Literary Hub, and The Nation. She is the co-founder of the feminist collective Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan.
